Geänderte Öffnungszeiten im Schloss rund um die Schlossmediale Werdenberg im Mai 2024 ->
WELCOME TO WERDENBERG CASTLE AND MUSEUMS
Explore 800 years of history in a unique architectural setting in the old town and the museums of Werdenberg. The late medieval castle – with its keep, palas residence, annexes and castle courtyard – was founded by Count Rudolf I of Montfort in around 1230.
The architectural ensemble today is home to two museums – one in the castle, the other in the old town – which recount the 800 year history of the rulers and their subjects.
The three principal historical periods – of the counts, the administrators from Glarus, and the influential middle class Hilty family – are vividly presented in the castle. A sense of how people lived in the Werdenberg region in the past is conveyed by the displays in the Schlangenhaus Museum. The Bistro, an all-wood building in the castle courtyard, serves homemade cakes and regionally produced snacks.

Werdenberg Castle – virtual!
A real outing - with birdsong! - from the comfort of your own home: The Society for Swiss Art History GSK invites you to discover Swiss castles on your own 360° tours. Werdenberg Castle as well as the castles of Spiez, Waldegg and Zug Castle can be visited and explored free of charge on the 360° Swiss Heritage website.

Geänderte ÖFFNUNGSZEITEN im SCHLOSS RUND UM DIE SCHLOSSMEDIALE 2024
Von Freitag 10. – Freitag 17. Mai sowie am Dienstag 28. & Mittwoch 29. Mai 2024 bleibt das Schloss wegen des Auf- und Abbaus der Schlossmediale geschlossen.
Während der Schlossmediale von 18. – 26. Mai ist das Schloss im Rahmen der Schlossmediale-Ausstellung zu speziellen Zeiten täglich geöffnet.

Für das Museum Schlangenhaus und das Bistro im Schlosshof gelten die normalen Öffnungszeiten.
